Summer Living Room Tour: Ideas Inspired by English Cottage Style

Take a tour of our cozy English cottage-style summer living room!

Hello friends! After wrapping up our entryway makeover, I wanted to share my summer living room tour and show you how I extended that gorgeous Coastal Jetty blue into the living room to create a seamless flow between the spaces.

We also finally purchased a new couch that we are absolutely in love with! I want to do a full review soon, but I’m still working on bringing the space above my couch together. As many of you know, I love to “play” with my decor, and it sometimes takes me a while to settle on design decisions for our home.

However, I am really loving this space is coming together and wanted to take you along on a little summer tour with me today!
Summer Living Room Tour
I am just loving Coastal Jetty in my living room. The blue adds so much charm and that color I’ve been craving since we renovated our guest bathroom. We painted all of our trim, as well as the board and batten accent wall and it has transformed our living room.

Our new couch from Ikea has been such a great addition so far. I love the deeper brown color as I feel it really grounds this space. I added sconces above our couch, as well as breadboards. I get a lot of questions about the breadboards in my living room, and I’ll be honest – I wasn’t expecting them to be so controversial haha

What can I say? I just love breadboards! I have quite the collection and my husband even built me a breadboard display rack. I really love them displayed here on my board and batten wall. I love adding natural wood elements into my design. So for now, they are here to stay.

I always have lots of fresh stems in vases throughout my living room in the summer, as well as some faux florals. I love the pop of color and bringing the beauty of the outdoors inside. Fresh lilacs are always my favorite, but sadly they only last a few weeks until I replace them with other stems from my garden.

My coffee table always has a few home books stacked on it, and I added this sweet little blue tapered candle that matches the new paint color almost perfectly!

My shelves as well as my little gallery corner have pretty much stayed the same. I love displaying vintage artwork in my home, but if you’re looking for some landscape paintings, you can shop my artwork here!

I like to switch up my throw blankets and pillows as well depending on the season. I’m a sucker for blue stripes and anything cream colored during the summer.
