Hello friends! Thank you for stopping by! Today as I looked around my home, I couldn’t help but notice the wicker pieces I have collected and incorporated into my home decor over the years. Wicker is so timeless, classic, and versatile, as its natural materials fit a wide variety of styles! From outdoor wicker furniture like wicker patio furniture to indoor use like wicker dining chairs, wicker can be used all throughout your home and outdoor space!

I want to share specifically with you the five ways I use wicker decor in my home! High quality wicker doesn’t have to be costly – many of the pieces in my home have been purchased for low prices at thrift stores, antique shops and Facebook Marketplace.

Dining Table Chairs

Probably one of my favorite wicker pieces in my home are my dining room chairs! They are the perfect chair for my dining room, as they are a beautiful, natural color and add so much texture and warmth to this space! If you have been following me for a while, you know that I had been using two synthetic wicker outdoor chairs that I had purchased from Target. Because they were intended for outdoor use, I decided to move those out to my backyard when we installed our pea gravel patio. I’m so glad I found these traditional wicker chairs to replace them!

The natural wicker is a bold focal point on either end of my dining table, and the durability of their frames makes them a great choice for a house full of boys! I have had these chairs for years and they have truly withstood the test of time. Plus there are so many fabric options for replacement cushions; you can buy moisture and water resistant cushions that make cleanup low maintenance and hassle-free. I love to have these chairs for my guests to sit at as well.

Shopping Cart

This shopping cart find is so special to me because I actually purchased it during our annual family vacation to North Carolina! My mom, sisters and I always check out the local thrift and antique shops, and I found this little cart an instantly fell in love. Our car, however, was packed full of luggage so I had to enlist my mom to pack it in her car for the long trip back to Michigan! I’m so glad she was able to bring it back for me, because it’s been a beautiful statement piece in my dining room ever since!

I love to fill it with different stems and and flowers for the changing seasons; pretty purple and white lilacs for spring and evergreen branches for the winter. I love the way it looks under my DIY breadboard display rack. The shopping cart is a unique piece of decor and makes me think of North Carolina every time I look at it!

Fridge Wicker Basket

Have you ever looked at the empty space above your refrigerator and wondered what to do with that void? I didn’t like the big, vacant gap between my fridge and ceiling, and decided to put one of my wicker baskets on top just to see if I liked how it looked. I often call this type of decorating “playing” with decor, and I ended up falling in love with the wicker basket in this space.

I loved it so much, in fact, that it has stayed up there ever since! And like my shopping cart, I also use this basket to decorate for the different seasons! It’s great to display pretty blooms, or even towels and other pieces of decor. I also like that the wicker basket averts your eyes from my modern refrigerator, as I have put a lot of effort into hiding my fridge!

Laundry Baskets

Like the basket above my fridge, I love to use wicker laundry baskets in my bedroom space! Baskets are such a great decor piece, as you can really use them anywhere in your home; on top of ottomans or chaise lounges, next to sofas or a rocking chair, or even on a coffee table! They also make wonderful gifts, as I’m always finding new ways to use baskets throughout my home.

I am especially in love with wicker laundry baskets though, as they really make something mundane like laundry truly beautiful. You can display pillows, blankets or towels in them and it instantly elevates the look versus a basic plastic laundry basket. They come in so many shapes, sizes and dimensions and are a budget friendly option as I have found so many wicker laundry baskets at thrift stores!

Stacked Wicker Baskets

Another beloved piece of wicker decor in my home are my stacked wicker baskets behind my Ikea chairs. Both of these baskets were antique finds; I purchased both for a steal at $35 total. While I don’t know their backstory, I love that they look like they were crafted by skilled artisans with the way they are woven together. They are the perfect storage solution for cozy blankets as well!

Stacking wicker baskets is a great way to add some charm to your decor and fill an empty corner that you’re not sure how to use or decorate. Combined with the art hanging on my wall, the stacked baskets make a beautiful statement piece in my living room. They pretty much stay here all year long, with the exception of moving them to make way for my Christmas tree.
