My Favorite Thrifted Home Decor Finds for Under $15

I hope you’ll be inspired today as I share my top five favorite thrifted home decor finds with you guys – all for fifteen dollars or less!
I’ll be honest – when I sat down to create a list of my favorite thrifted home decor finds for under $15, it was tough! So much of my home has been curated through thrift shopping and second hand stores, and there are so many great items I scored for just a dollar or two.
I’ve narrowed this list down to 5 thrifted items today, in hopes that this will be the start of a series of many more blog posts! Favorite thrift store finds under $10 maybe? $5? $1?!? Ha! We’ll see!
I love the thrill of shopping for unique pieces the local Goodwill or consignment stores! My mindset is that you don’t have to pay full price for quality items in good condition. There is magic in finding a high quality piece that nobody else has, and I really believe we are in the golden age of thrifting. I hope this post gives you inspiration and an open mind to try out thrifting for yourself!
Are you ready?? Let’s begin!
Favorite Thrifted Home Decor Find – #1
Probably one of my all time favorite thrifted home decor finds is my three tiered entry basket. Whenever I show photos of my entryway, I am almost always asked about the basket I have next to my door.

My mom is actually the one who found this for me, and honestly I almost told her to pass on it when she sent me a photo! I’m SO glad she convinced me to have her grab it.

At just $15, it’s the perfect place to throw keys, mail, mittens and scarves. Of course I love styling it with greenery, too. The warm tones pop beautifully against the crisp white bead-board.

The second find I’m going to share with you today was another $15 score. I found it just last summer, and it’s the pine washstand next to our bed upstairs. I haven’t taken any recent photos of this beauty yet, hence the Christmas decorations.

Again, I almost didn’t buy it because it was very orange when I saw it at the thrift store. We really lucked out on this one, because a little bit of sanding and some elbow grease gave this washstand new life!

Our bedroom was one of my favorite spaces to decorate for Christmas last year!

The third thrifted home decor find was actually less than fifteen dollars. They are so precious to me, and for these I only paid $12. I love using them on my dining room shelves…can you guess what they are??

My vintage Pfaltzgraff collection!
Yes, I know Pfaltzgraff is sill around today, but there is a big difference between the newer pieces and the original, vintage pieces. I plan on writing a blog post all about my collection since I’m asked about them all the time.
I also love displaying this collection in our corner hutch!

I have definitely added to my collection over the years, but the majority of the large pieces you see on my dining room shelves all came from one twelve dollar set!

Favorite Thrifted Home Decor Find – #4
The fourth find I’ll share with you today is my living room side table. It’s new and from Target, but the tabletop has a large gap down the center which is why it was marked as “salvage” at Goodwill. You can find so many new household items from Target at Goodwill, as they make donations with their unsold items.

Can you guess how much I paid??
Yup, fifteen bucks. When I bought this particular item, the color of the wood was sort of orangey red toned, so we just sanded down the finish to the raw wood. Sometimes I think it might be neat to replace the entire tabletop with some rustic reclaimed wood, but for now I think the table works beautifully in our living room.

The last find I’m going to share with you today is my little gray dresser under my cutting board display. Believe it or not, I brought this back from North Carolina. Our family vacations there every single year, and one of the things my Mom and I love to do is thrift and visit local antique and vintage stores.

This dresser was cream with wooden handles when I found it. I brought it all the way back to Michigan back in 2011, so it’s changed colors quite a few times, haha! Right now it’s a dark, charcoal gray color, but it’s due for another paint job very soon!
I paid ten dollars for this piece, and it’s so perfect off of the kitchen! We use it to store napkins, washcloths and cleaning cloths.

Thrift store home decor – final thoughts
Well, that wraps up my list of favorite thrifted home decor finds for under $15! I hope you enjoyed this post, but most importantly I hope it inspired you to get out of your comfort zone and give thrifting a try!
As a homemaker, I have a passion for sustainable living and using thrift stores as resources to source affordable home decor. In the blogging world, overconsumption can be trap that we so easily fall into; however, you can find beautiful, simple pieces at your local consignment store, and donate pieces you’re no longer using.
To be honest, it seems like thrifting is all the rage right now. Just type “thrifted home decor” into Pinterest or Instagram and see how many hits you get! You’d think that by now, everyone would be thrifting. Yet I still have people tell me that they don’t know what to look for, they never find anything, or they just haven’t even tried.
If it sounds like I’m describing you, subscribe to my blog and I’ll send you my FREE E-book with all my thrift store tips and tricks! You can also watch my latest video where I update my closet with thrifted, cozy loungewear. I rarely ever buy new clothes, as I often can find quality, second-hand clothes at thrift stores!

Thank you so much Cindy!! Thrifting is the best! 🙂
First, you have such a very wonderful presence and positive warmth in your vlogs – Bravo & keep up the great work!
I watched a few of your videos and kept hearing a similar sounds when you talk that sound like a tongue clicking like sound that you make – which is probably a very unconscious habit. For example, you can hear your tongue click sound at approx. 0:53 in YouTube video “My Favorite Thrifted Home Decor Finds under $15”.
I just wanted to share my praise and a little feedback but I just didn’t want to say this in a group message. People tend to be quite cruel sometimes.
Blessings to you and your family- Suzanne
Suzanne thank you for your feedback and kind words! As far as the clicking, I apologize! This video thing is all new to me and I know that I have so much learning to do! I will try to be more conscious of that next time I edit a video. Thanks again! 🙂
