Today I’m sharing our cozy Cottage Christmas bedroom with you guys! I just love the way our room came together this year. Even though it’s very simple and minimal, our bedroom still feels welcoming and cozy!
Since this space is so different this year with the added beams, new seating and carpeting, I couldn’t wait to decorate it for the holiday season!

Cottage Christmas Bedroom – The Bedding
The first area I wanted to focus on in our bedroom was the bed area. I searched and searched for Christmas bedding that felt festive and matched my style, but everything I liked was overpriced. One day I’ll invest in some holiday bedding, but this year I decided to work with what I had.

I love our bed set and the sheets are so soft and wonderful, but I wanted a bit of a change for the holiday season.
I happened to have a pretty blue blanket that matched some of the ribbon that I purchased for our bedroom space, so I layered that on my bed and simply flipped my existing gray blanket to the cream side. Unfortunately, my bedding is no longer available, but you can find something similar here.

Just like that, my bed felt festive and matched the decor I brought into the space. I’m still on the lookout for some pretty Christmas pillows, but I was content with the minimal feel this year!
Cottage Christmas Bedroom – The Greenery
The next thing I wanted to bring into my bedroom space was greenery. I found some wonderful cedar garland at Marshall’s this year that was 9 feet long, so I draped it over my headboard. I linked a similar garland here, if you’re interested!

I strung lights throughout the garland for an extra cozy feel, and I tied some blue and green velvet ribbon that I got from Hobby Lobby in a bow at the top of my headboard. I love the frayed edges of the ribbon and the old fashioned feel that it has!

I also decided to add greens to the old pine nightstand next to the bed with antique ice skates layered on top. The skates are from my Grandpa who passed away a few years ago, so they are extra special to me. I just love the way they look!

I put together a small vignette on the top of my dresser as well, with more faux cedar branches, a wrapped present and a “Believe” sign that my sister bought me one year for Christmas.

Cozy Cottage Christmas Bedroom – The Tree
My favorite part of our bedroom, however, is the Christmas tree that we placed between the two chairs in the sitting area. You can find the tree here, I just love the Charlie Brown feeling it has and the old fashioned look I was able to create this year.

I decided to bring the same blue and green ribbon onto the tree, with the addition of cream ribbon as well. I also added a mixture of cream, white and silver ornaments as well as mercury glass bulbs. I love the way the tree turned out and I especially love the clip on candles. I found those on Amazon! You can find them here.

Cottage Christmas Bedroom – Sitting Area
In order to make the siting area feel extra cozy, I added layers using pillows and blankets. A soft blue blanket draped on one of the chairs, along with two knit pillows that I found so inexpensively, here.

I also decided to tie ribbon on the wall sconces, which always adds a festive touch. Layered beneath the Christmas tree is some fur that my Mom gave me, and an old sled that I found antique shopping one year.

I just love the way this whole area came together with the new bedroom layout and the beautiful wood beams. And I think our sweet cat really likes it, too. Haha.

Well I hope you enjoyed this tour of my cozy cottage Christmas bedroom! Thank you for stopping by friends and I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!

PIN FOR LATER

So pretty! I’m in love with all the pillows on your bed. It looks like a couple of different kinds. Are those sources listed somewhere on your blog?
