Fall Kitchen Decor: How to Add Fall Touches to Your Kitchen

Today I’m sharing my simple fall kitchen decor and how to add a few cozy fall touches to your kitchen without spending a lot on new decor!

While I still haven’t decorated for fall yet, I wanted to share my simple formula for decorating my kitchen for the autumn season. Kitchens can be a tricky place to decorate because you don’t want to add so much decor that the space becomes unusable, but you still want to add those little fall touches that make a space feel cozy and welcoming. Today, I’ll be sharing my fall kitchen decor to give you an idea of how to find that perfect balance!

Add Fall Stems and Seasonal Greenery
One of the easiest ways to add a touch of autumn to your home is to step outside, clip a few stems from your backyard, and arrange them in your kitchen. This is really my go-to method for fall decorating. I love using natural elements, and what better way to embrace the season than to bring a little bit of what’s growing right outside into your home? Let your stems dry out naturally and place them in vintage crocks, pitchers, or simple vases for an easy, beautiful fall arrangement.

Of course, I love the traditional colors of orange, brown, and red for fall, but don’t be afraid to incorporate green, too. And if you don’t have enough growing in your yard, mix in a few faux stems. I do this all the time! The combination of real and faux stems makes it easy to create arrangements that feel natural and autumnal.

Mix Real and Faux Pumpkins

I love a little pumpkin in my fall decor, but I really try to use some restraint when decorating with them. Just one or two small faux or real pumpkins can add the perfect touch of fall without cluttering up your countertops. Place one next to a candle, tuck one onto a shelf, or pile a few into a bowl. I like to buy a mix of different colors, sizes, and textures so they feel collected rather than overly coordinated. A few well-placed pumpkins are really all you need!

Add Candles for a Cozy Fall Feel
I know I talk about candles in almost every decor blog, but I really can’t stress enough how much a lit candle can add to the ambiance and mood of your kitchen. I love using fall scents like pumpkin spice, but honestly, even a pretty fall-colored taper candle can add so much warmth and coziness to your fall kitchen. I like to tuck them in with my mini pumpkins or fall stems for an easy little seasonal vignette.

Create a Simple Fall Kitchen Decor Display
Instead of trying to decorate every surface, pick one small area to create a little fall display. I like to use this simple formula: something tall (stems) + something seasonal (pumpkins) + something cozy (a candle). It’s an easy way to add a little fall charm without making your kitchen feel cluttered. Your countertops will thank you, haha!

Keep Your Fall Kitchen Decor Simple

My last piece of advice is to keep your fall kitchen decor simple. Shop your home and your backyard first before buying anything new. You might be surprised by what you already have! Mix seasonal pieces with your everyday kitchen decor, and be sure to leave plenty of open space on your countertops so your kitchen still feels functional.
