Thrifty Spring Cottage Style Bedroom

Our thrifty spring cottage style bedroom feels so warm and full of life! I love how so many of my thrifted and second hand finds came together to create a space that is cozy and serene.
This thrifty spring cottage style bedroom is a space that has slowly come together over the last eight years. Almost everything in this room was either given to us, purchased at a thrift store or found on Facebook marketplace. I recently added a few accents to make it feel like spring, and I’m so excited to be sharing this space with you guys!

Thrifty Spring Cottage Style Bedroom Ideas
You guys already know how much I love faux stems and flowers. At this time of year we still have a bit of snow on the ground and fresh flowers are both difficult to find and also very pricey. I love incorporating greenery to make a space feel alive and refreshed.

The washstand style nightstand was a thrift store find at just fifteen bucks, and some simple faux flowers in a vase instantly makes the room feel like spring. I also added some flowers to the dough bowl that sits on top of my painted dresser with raw wood drawers.

For the bedding, I’m still using the linen duvet that I thrifted (brand new) along with a new accent pillow that I only paid twelve dollars for at Marshall’s. Something about the soft stripe felt like spring to me, and I love the cream fringe detail on the pillow as well. Everything pops so nicely against our DIY drop cloth head board!

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen me playing with acrylics this past weekend! I had some fun painting and ended up creating three landscape prints for our bedroom. I just love the way they turned out! Each scene reminds me of the sand dunes down in North Carolina where we visit each year. They are covered in grass and shrubs with sandy walk ways that lead to each beach house, and now every time I look at my paintings, wonderful memories start flooding back!

The last thing I did in order to decorate for spring was add some sun hats to the hooks near our bed. I shared this in our entryway tour last week, but simple changes like this make such a difference! I just love the color and texture of sunhat and they instantly add so much warmth.

Our bedroom space is sort of long and narrow, so we decided to add a sectional couch to the area opposite of our bed. It has become the best place for us to hang out as a family and cozy up for movie nights! It’s almost like a second living space now.

I also brought up a small table and chairs for the boys to color or have snacks, and they love it so much. The table was my Mom’s when she was a little girl, and the chippy blue chair was pulled from the church that my dad used to attend as a little boy.

The wooden potty chair was an antique store find and at ten bucks, it was too cute to leave at the store! Now it’s a bit of a joke – who gets to sit in the potty chair hehehe. I promise, the hole is so small that it works perfectly fine as a regular chair! Sure makes us laugh, though!

Well I hope you enjoyed this thrifty spring cottage style bedroom tour. I know it was very simple, but that seems to be what I’m craving these days. Have you decorated for spring yet?
Thanks for stopping by today, friends!!

Andrea,
Please show us how you installed your board and batten! I really would love to do this as well, but you just so briefly scimmed over over it. PLEASE!
PS. You are the best in design for this style. Be encouraged! And don’t ever shy away from your Christian witness. That just made me connect with you even more!
Aww Juliette thank you!! What a beautiful name!! 🙂 I do have a post on the board and batten we did in the nursery! It’s very similar to that, we just used 1×3’s here in the bedroom. I so appreciate you’re encouragement! It means so so much! 🙂
My first time on your bog. Love love love everything
Aww Hi Sharon!! Thank you so so much!! 🙂
I saw you thrifted the duvet, but is the brand on it Hearth and Hand? Love your style and this room!! Hope to find some night stands like yours! 🙂
Hi Jenna! No it is not actually…it’s another brand by Target, maybe Fieldcrest I think? Hope that helps! 🙂
Your home is beautiful! I would love to know the wall color you used.
Thanks so much!
Thank you! In the bedroom? It’s Halo by Benjamin Moore 🙂
I love the serenity of your bedroom and would like to invest on some new linen bedding. From all of your pictures the duvet and shams appear ro be blue but the Shop My Home shows a dark gray.
Could you please clarify the color? Thank you.
Hi Cheryle, thank you so much! The one I linked is not an exact match, sadly I found mine at Goodwill. It was brand new with Target tags, so I tried to just link one similar. I’m so sorry. Mine is more like a gray blue though, for sure. I wish I could be of more help!
I’ve been following you on YouTube for a few months and want to say how calming your design style is. I am also a fan of your artwork. You have such talent.
Thank you Rhea, that was so kind of you to take the time to tell me that! 🙂
Andrea – I love your style and posts on your blog and you-tube and follow along on a regular basis…curious to know if the bed headboard was a diy or a purchase.
Thank you so much! It was actually a DIY, I included details in this post: https://www.pineandprospecthome.com/5-affordable-decor-diys-that-look-expensive/
