Holiday Decor I Used This Season: Plus Exactly Where To Buy Every Piece!

Holiday Home Decor Sources

Today I am sharing my favorite holiday home decor sources!

Holiday Home Decor Sources

Every year I am always asked where my Christmas decor is from, and I thought I could write a blog post dedicated to sharing my holiday home decor sources with you! While a lot of my holiday decor is secondhand or thrifted, a lot of my greenery (garlands, wreaths, etc.) ribbon, and faux trees have been purchased online. I still heavily advocate shopping at thrift stores or antique shops for your decor, but sometimes you can’t always find the perfect holiday decor secondhand.

Please don’t ever look at my blog and feel like you need to buy every piece you see. I know it can be tempting to look at someone’s home online and want to recreate the decor or trend exactly, but I never want anyone to spend a lot of money trying to replicate what you see here. I always want to emphasize budget-friendly holiday home decor ideas and simple inspiration for the holiday season. The true magic and joy of this time of year rests in the miracle of Jesus’ birth and the salvation He brings, and in the moments we share with the people we love – not having picture-perfect Christmas decor.

I’m sharing these sources simply because I’m frequently asked about them, and every once in a while it’s okay to splurge a little on a decor piece here and there. Just remember: everything in moderation! And before you splurge, definitely check your thrift store for possible dupes first, haha!

Holiday Home Decor Sources: Entryway

The only decor I have to link in my entryway is my greenery and ribbons! The rest is either thrift, antique or from my grandparents. The garland is actually a custom creation of mine. I combined a pine garland with a eucalyptus garland and added some warm lights to make my entryway glow.

I love using neutrals in my decor, and my Christmas decor is no exception. I use cream and brown ribbon throughout my home, but I also add a pop of blue to add some color.

Living Room

I use the same garland from my entryway throughout my living room, and honestly throughout my whole home. My fireplace mantel garland is a similar custom creation of mine, the only difference is the base garland I used has pinecones in it.

However, you can still create the same look using the sources I linked above! I added another variation of eucalyptus that I’ll link below that you can combine to create your own swag. Honestly, I have so much fun creating my own holiday decor concoctions to get the look I’m trying to achieve haha

I used the same blue ribbon in my Christmas tree that I used in my entryway. If you watched last week’s YouTube video, you know I got a new tree this year. I will link it below, but honestly I’m not sure if I would recommend it. I wasn’t a fan of the pre-strung lights on the new tree, so I ended up taking them off and restringing it with new lights.

I love the final product, but I highly doubt you want to do that much work haha so I will also link my tree from previous years. I loved that tree! I had it for a few years, but the lights eventually died on it so that is the reason why I bought the new one. However, I still use that same brand of tree (just a smaller size) in my sunroom and boys’ rooms.

I’m also going to link some mini bottle brush trees I have on the little table in my living room. I love the cream color of these particular trees and they are just so great to decorate with. Add a few clusters to your coffee table, kitchen or bathroom counters and it automatically adds a touch of magic to any space.

Sunroom

The only thing I have to link in my sunroom that I haven’t linked yet is my little Christmas tree (this is the same tree I have in the kids room and my bedroom by the way!) You’ll notice the same greenery, ribbon, and mini bottle brush trees in this space as well. My sunroom is a little office space, but it’s also a music room! I have my piano in here, as well as a few other instruments the boys are trying out.

Because we practice music in this room, I decided to use my DIY hymn book garland on this tree. I love making DIY ornaments and garland! I have a few projects I’ve shared over the years that you can check out below.

Holiday Home Decor Sources: Dining Room

Okay this next source may seem silly, but it’s been one of my most asked questions. Everyone loves the look of my greenery hanging on the arched entrance of my dining room, and I am frequently asked how I hang it there. Simple – I used cup hooks! I leave the anchors in and when the holiday season rolls around, I screw them in and hang up the garland. It’s an easy hack that I hope helps!

Another small thing in my dining room is battery operated Christmas lights. I love a wire free look, and a battery operated light strand helps me cut down on having wires hanging everywhere. This is just my picky preference though haha Plus, it’s just so magical to have lights everywhere!

I’m also linking my favorite Antique Candle Co. non-toxic candles. Yes, it’s technically not holiday decor. But I love these candles so much and it certainly adds to the festive atmosphere. I give these candles as Christmas gifts every year. Be on the lookout for holiday sales!

Well friends, those are my main holiday home decor sources! You may be wondering why I don’t have a category for my kitchen, bedroom or bathroom. It’s simply because I use the same greenery, ribbons, etc. in those spaces that I have already linked above.

If you have any questions about a specific piece that I don’t have linked, it’s likely that I found it in a thrift store haha However, feel free to ask about it in the comments below or shoot me a message over on Instagram. I’m not trying to gate-keep anything over here!

I hope you found this post helpful if you’ve been looking for sources on my Christmas decor! But please, save yourself some money and check your local thrift store! I think you may be surprised at the deals you can find on holiday decor when shopping second hand.
