It is finally that time of year my friends! The kids have made their lists, Santa is on his way, and I am filled with holiday spirit haha My Christmas bedroom is all decorated for the holiday season, so I thought I would share it with you today! I love decorating for Christmas, but I especially love adding decor to my Christmas bedroom.

Christmas Bedroom Tree

Holiday decorating brings so many comforts to any space, adding holiday cheer to any space. The twinkle lights, Christmas tree and greenery all add so much warmth and magic to my cozy Christmas bedroom. I hope my Christmas bedroom decor ideas give you some inspiration this Christmas season!

Christmas Bedroom Decor

A few years ago, we installed these reclaimed beams in our bedroom and it really makes our bedroom feel cozy. Last year I got the idea to hang cedar garland and string lights between the frame of barn beams over our bed and headboard, and it truly makes this space feel so magical at Christmas time. Some day I want to go all out and get Christmas bedding complete with throw pillows and throw blankets, but for now, my neutral color scheme bedding works just fine.

I decided to hang the garland up again this year since I loved how it turned out last year! I actually thickened up the garland a bit this year with a few garlands I found at HomeGoods, and I simply adore how it looks hanging over our bed and bedside tables. Almost all of my garlands are a DIY creation using various garlands that I layer over top of each other. I use the same technique for the garland hanging on my fireplace mantel in my living room!

For the Christmas tree, I kept the colors pretty neutral. We have some beige and brown gingham on the bed with the pillows, so I went with brown velvet ribbon that I grabbed from Hobby Lobby. I made some orange slices which I burnt a little by accident haha but it was a happy accident because I actually like the darker orange color on the tree. Plus, it matches the theme that I have going on up here. I thought that was a fun addition to my tree this year!

I added some thrifted cream and white ornaments to the tree and I really love the way it looks with my burnt orange slices and wooden bead garland. The orange slices add some much needed pops of color, as well as texture, and the brown ribbon almost has a berry look to it over the sparkle of the lights.

I also put some garland over above our closet door by our dresser to add some more coziness. There is nothing like laying in bed and being surrounded by the warm glow of Christmas lights. It is such a special feeling, and I am already feeling a little sad about having to eventually take them down haha

I put some cozy, sweater like pillows on the armchairs, as well as a pretty plaid blanket. Because I decided to put my tree between the chairs, we moved the washstand over to the side of the room. On top of the wash stand, I laid some vintage ice skates that my grandfather gave me and some greenery.

I tried to keep my nightstands free of too much decor, as we use them daily to set our Bibles, devotional books and coffee on. Thankfully we have sconce lamps so that give us a little extra room to play with; however, while I love to have fresh cedar tucked everywhere, it is just not practical to have too much greenery here.

Well my friends those are my simple Christmas bedroom ideas for a magical and cozy retreat! I know I kept things very minimal, but I believe a lot can go a long way when it comes to Christmas decor! Even a simple Christmas wreath with fairy lights or a mini Christmas tree can make such a big impact on any space.
