English Cottage Influenced Spring Home Tour 2021

Lilac season is here and I am so excited to show you how I decorate with them in my English Cottage influenced spring home tour!
Itβs that time of year againβ¦lilac season! The time of year here in Michigan where everything blooms and comes to life. The time of year when you sleep with the windows open and wake up to the sounds of birds chirping. I just love this time of year! I also love having fresh flowers throughout my home as you can see in my English Cottage influenced spring home tour!
If you have questions about any of the rooms you see in this tour, please leave a comment below. Today Iβll be starting in my entryway, moving to my living room, then my dining room and ending in our galley style kitchen.

Lilacs might just be my favorite flower, and Iβm so thankful that we have a very large lilac tree right next to our home. The Lord knew how much I would love them each spring!
Our lilacs are a light purple variety, but a sweet friend down the street has a long row of white lilacs that are stunning. We asked if I could clip some and she was so kind to let us take some! Iβm not sure if she reads my blog but if so – thank you Emily!!

We actually planted more lilacs along our fence in the backyard, but it looks like most of them are coming in purple. I will have to hunt for some white varieties to plant back there as well! I just love mixing the different colors.
If you saw my lilac post from last year, I actually incorporated an even darker variety that a sweet older gentlemen let me clip from his yard. If you love lilacs as much as I do, youβll have to check out that post after you finish this one!

Iβm curious – do you prefer reading blog posts and looking at pictures, or watching video? I try to provide both on my blog because I know some prefer to read, and some prefer to watch. If you watch the tour linked above, youβll notice that I didnβt narrate the video like I normally do.
Thereβs not much Iβll say about this tour on the blog, either. I simply wanted to provide some inspiration for your spring decorating. Photographing flowers brings me so much joy and itβs such a fun, creative process for me. I look forward to this tour every year and I hope that it inspires you in some way!

I hope you enjoyed my English Cottage influenced spring home tour!

Absolutely gorgeous! You are blessed to have lilacs. We donβt have them in my part of the country but I always enjoy them when I go to my daughterβs house up north in the spring. I read your blog but rarely watch the videos so I would say the pictures on the blog are my favorite.
Thank you for sharing that Karen, and yes I love the lilacs so so much!
The photos are stunning! I like both video and stills but it is always good to document with photos. A photo speaks volumes and like I said, these are stunning. I have to admit that I love relaxing and watching all my favorite YouTubers in their weekly videos about what is happening and what they are working on in their lives.
Hello Betty, I feel so privileged to be on of your favorite YouTubers, thank you for taking the time to share that with me!
Watched the video twice! So so well done and your style is so calm but breathtaking at the same time! Enjoyed every minute of it!
Thank you so much Kelly, so glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Andrea,
I bet your beautiful spring home smells divine! As always, it looks like a calm and happy cottage! π
Just beautiful!! But curious if the lilacs in the basket by the front door are in water or just there For video??
Linda, I wondered the same thing! Guessing they’re in small jars, or maybe florist’s tubes?
They are sitting in a container with water hidden by the basket. π

You have a lovely home and yes, I love lilacs too. I prefer looking at pictures on your blog. I like to have time to really study themβΊ
Thank you for sharing that Lynne! I know everyone is a little different, but glad to hear someone loves the photos on the blog!
What a lovely home. What is the kitchen counter made of?
Thank you Peggy! That was already installed when we moved in, the entire kitchen was updated! All we had to do was paint which was a huge blessing!
Your home is adorable. Let us know how the baby is doing .Thanks so much for sharing God Bless
I love your blog. it is one of my very favorites. I would love to see a picture of your lilac tree. I am thinking about planting some myself.
Thank you so so much! I will definitely share photos of our yard, especially now that it is warmer!
You have such a beautiful home! I love the look of lilacs, but they really aggravate my allergies so I can’t have them in my house or yard. I personally prefer to read/view photos on a blog as opposed to viewing videos on YouTube because I love to take the time to slowly study each and every detail. You just can’t do that with a video. Blessings!
I am so sorry to hear about your allergies! One of my sons suffers from different allergies, so I understand the struggle! I am so happy to hear you enjoy reading my blog posts as well, thank you!
Hello Andrea! Can you tell me the source of that plaid rug in your living room? It’s divine!
