Christmas Mini Tour and Exciting News!
Hello friends!
I feel like I have so much to share since my last blog post, so I suppose I’ll get right to it! If you follow me on Instagram, you already know by now that we are expecting again!
I am almost 17 weeks pregnant, and while we are so excited to be having a third child in May of next year, this pregnancy has been the hardest by far. With both of my boys I experienced mild morning sickness, so I was expecting the same this time around. Without getting into too much detail, let’s just say that I’ve spent more time next to a toilet during this pregnancy than I did with both of my boys combined. The nausea has been rough, but I’ve also had awful headaches, many times for which pain medicine does nothing. I think the hardest part about the past three months, however, has just been the fatigue. Guys, I am SO tired, ALL the time. I’m sure it has something to do with my 2 and 4 year old little boys…but my lack of energy has really had me down I’ll admit.
You see, I am the type of person that loves to make lists, rise early, and get as much done as humanly possible in a single day’s time. I am always working on something, whether it’s a DIY project, church related, or even just housework. I might sit for a few minutes during nap time to eat something and scroll through Pinterest, but I’m truly not the type to sit for very long. The fact that I am finally writing a blog post feels like a huge accomplishment for me!
Maybe some of you can relate…or maybe some have no idea what I’m talking about. With my boys, the second trimester arrived with a burst of energy. I began nesting like crazy…organizing every single closet and drawer down to the smallest thumb tack. Purging and cleaning my kitchen floors with a toothbrush – true story!! I keep asking my husband, “when is that burst of energy going to come? When am I going to feel like myself again? What is wrong with me??”
When I started this blog, one of the things I was most excited for was Christmas. I planned on sharing DIY projects, easy Christmas crafts for children, money saving decor tips, maybe even Christmas cookie recipes. I could not wait to blog about my favorite time of year. Even after we found out that I was pregnant, I looked ahead at the calendar and thought, “I should be feeling normal again by Thanksgiving.” Well, that never happened, and here I am, sharing my decor with you only two weeks before Christmas. I am learning to let things go and remind myself that it’s ok if my plans don’t work out exactly the way I wanted them to, and I’m so thankful for the amazing, supportive husband the Lord has blessed me with! Mike has been such a help in so many ways.
So here’s a mini Christmas home tour (I guess that’s what I’ll call it), if you’re still interested! I know everyone’s homes are probably already decorated for Christmas, but maybe you’ll find inspiration for next year, or if you are like me, maybe you just like to look at homes decorated for the holidays because it makes you happy! 🙂
When I first decorated for Christmas, I only had two stockings hung. I was on the hunt for two larger stockings for our boys that were similar to ours but still somewhat different.
Just last weekend my Mom, sisters and I did some last minute Christmas shopping, and I was so happy to find two more at Jo-Ann Fabrics! I love the fur and the little bit of sparkle they have!
I kept our tree pretty simple this year, and I love the way it came together.
One of my favorite things to decorate with when it comes to Christmas decor is ribbon. It makes everything feel so festive!
I can’t wait to fill my dining buffet with yummy Christmas treats!! 🙂
I hope you enjoyed the tour, my friends! Thank you so much for stopping by, and please have a very Merry Christmas!! 🙂
Much love,
You have done so well and everything looks beautiful!
Thank you so much, Maureen! 🙂
Beautiful style and information. My favorite home decor of all time
Thank you Jill! That was so sweet of you to say! 🙂 I so appreciate you visiting my blog! 🙂
Did you write the words on the chalkboard? Lots of pretty fonts!
Hi Robyn! Yes I did! Thank you! 🙂
