Over the years (and especially with little children) I have really changed the way I decorate for fall. I welcome simplicity and coziness these days, and this year I didn’t even use my faux stems, faux pumpkins and fall foliage from years past.

Midwest life here in the mitten state means you can find plenty of wheat fields and pumpkin stands on any county road. We picked up some heirloom pumpkins at a local stand outside of town, and they became my inspiration for my fall home decor. I plopped them all around the house and mixed them with some faux fall stems I already had. I also brought in some copper pieces to add warmth near my fireplace mantel in our fall family room.

I love how the centerpiece on my coffee table turned out. To recreate this look, you could really use any autumn inspired item like fall leaves or pinecones! A pretty cottage style tray with fall scented candles or baskets full of apples would also add fall warmth and coziness to your space.
I found some cloth napkins at Marshall’s (a package of 4 for 9.99) that I turned into pillow covers. When I decorate for fall, I don’t usually incorporate traditional colors like red and orange. I thought these napkins were so pretty though, and they really tie in nicely to pumpkins scattered about. They add a pretty pop of color combined with my throw blankets.

If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you know that I got this beautiful new sign for above my couch. I’m not sure if I’ve shared it here on the blog yet, but I just love what it says. It’s such a wonderful daily reminder to have in our living room.

I kept things just as simple in our dining room and dining room table. Some squash from family and fresh cut leaves from the trees outside our home is really all I did. In this season of my life, with little babies, the simpler the better.

In a few of these photos you can see a little sneak peek of the stone that I added to the far wall in our kitchen. It’s still not finished yet, but I love the way it’s coming along!

The white paint on this dresser turned buffet is chipping in several places (mainly from being hit with the vacuum, ha!) and I have been contemplating whether or not I should keep it white or repaint it another color. What do you guys think?

And yes, I did notice the marble under the buffet AFTER editing these photos of course. Thank you for that, children. I always seem to notice these things right when I go to post. Oh well, to be honest it kinda made me smile. 🙂
I love these beautiful signs from my friend Rachel at The Wooded Lane. She makes the most beautiful signs!

I used some dried hydrangeas from my garden in the kitchen mixed with some faux eucalyptus for next to the sink. Again – simple and cheap!

I also switched up our kitchen chalkboard and used the frame from the old storm door that was on our front door. I really love the way it turned out. A simple eucalyptus wreath tied with ribbon added the perfect fall touch.

And that’s it my friends! I hope you enjoyed the tour. Told you it was simple! 🙂 Be sure to check out all of the wonderful fall inspiration shared by my talented friends below!
