Happy Friday friends! Can you believe it is August already? The summer always seem to fly by here in Michigan, so I am always looking for ways to make it a little sweeter while it is here! What better way to sweeten up your summer by baking a delicious peach cobbler?

Not only is this cobbler the perfect summer treat, it is also one of the easiest dessert recipes to quickly whip up! You don’t even have to stir the ingredients: simply pour the batter over some melted butter in your cast iron pan or baking dish, and then spoon your canned peaches over the batter.

You can substitute fresh peaches if you would prefer. I like the convenience of precut sliced peaches to save time, but every once in a while a friend or neighbor will drop off some freshly picked ones. Just remember to peel them before you cut them up into slices!

This old fashioned peach cobbler recipe holds up well in the refrigerator, but I doubt you will have leftovers! I love to serve it warm while the crust is a bit soft with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top!

Does the cobbler need to be baked in a cast iron skillet, or can I use a glass or metal baking pan?
