Since giving our porch a stone makeover last fall, I’ve had so much fun decorating it for each season! Autumn is especially fun, with its beautiful pumpkins, seasonal flowers, and cozy textures. Today, I’m sharing simple fall porch decor ideas, along with a peek at our fall window boxes and entryway. I love how these natural elements create a warm, welcoming feel and carry a cohesive fall look from the outdoors to inside our home.

Simple Fall Porch Decor Ideas

I love a classic fall look for our porch, complete with pumpkins and mums. However, I tend to gravitate toward a more neutral color palette rather than the bright oranges and reds traditionally associated with the season. I like to mix pumpkins in varying sizes, shapes, and muted shades of green and cream for a natural, understated look.

I also love stacking a few pumpkins and grouping them with the planters and watering can along our stone steps between the railings to frame the space and add visual interest. For the mums, I used a mix of galvanized steel and terracotta planters, and this year, I even decided to incorporate cabbage! Mixing natural elements, rustic textures, and soft, neutral colors creates a timeless, cottage-inspired look that feels perfect for fall.

Add Seasonal Charm With Fall Window Boxes

I also love decorating our fall window boxes with seasonal flowers and natural elements. This year, I used ornamental cabbage, dried hydrangeas, and wispy branches in a mix of muted greens, dusty purples, and warm, earthy tones.

I tucked in a few small white pumpkins and some gray heather spray for a subtle touch of fall and love how the different textures come together. Fall window boxes are such a beautiful way to add seasonal charm to your home, and I especially love how these natural, understated colors complement the rest of our fall porch decor.

Create a Cozy Fall Entryway

A few weeks ago, I promised to share our new entryway once I had it decorated for fall, and I’m finally getting around to it! I kept things simple this year, using pieces I already had, like wicker baskets, rustic wood, and woven accessories, to bring in a touch of the season.

I love bringing the outdoors in when decorating for fall, using natural elements and textures to create a cozy, welcoming feel. It’s also a great way to carry the same colors and style from our fall porch into our home for a cohesive look from outdoors to indoors.

I added a faux pumpkin beside our entryway bench, kept our rain boots close at hand, and filled my three-tiered basket with fall stems. I like to keep this space functional for everyday use while still incorporating a few simple autumnal touches to make it feel cozy and seasonal.

Simple Tips for a Cohesive Fall Look

Here are a few simple tips when decorating your porch and home for fall!

• Stick to a neutral color palette: I love using soft greens, creams, and earthy tones for a timeless fall look.
• Mix natural textures: Incorporate wood, wicker, stone, and seasonal flowers to add warmth and interest.
• Vary the heights and sizes: Group pumpkins of different shapes and sizes together to create a more natural display.
• Bring the outdoors in: Repeat colors and natural elements from your porch in your entryway to create a cohesive look throughout your home.
