Hey friends! Today I want to share our cottage style home with you during my favorite season of the year – summer time!

Welcome friends! Maybe you’ve noticed, maybe not – but I haven’t shared anything here on the blog, Pinterest or Facebook since late June. I hate to say it’s because “I’ve been so busy” or that “I haven’t had the time”…while both of those things are partially true, I guess I definitely could have made the time. I just chose not to.

At the beginning of summer I was bound and determined to continue sharing decorating ideas here and creating new content, but then Thursday passed along with Friday, and suddenly something happened and I decided it was okay to take a small break from being a blogger for my convenience. This is the only summer that my boys will be 6, 3 and 1…the only one.
So we’ve been busy alright…busy fishing, busy swimming at the pool, busy going for bike rides, busy visiting grandparents on the front porch, busy taking a stroll to the park, busy playing on the beach…you get the idea, ha! Looking back, I don’t regret it. 🙂

Anyway before the summer ends I want to share our summer decor ideas with you guys, after all this is my favorite time of year in the mitten state. If you have a southern home, you maybe don’t appreciate the summer months quite as much with the heat haha
I know it’s backwards and I should have shared this back in June, but that’s okay. I hope this post can be an inspiration to your summer home decor, as I’ve been so inspired by the gorgeous homes of creative women and blogging friends!
Grab some lemonade and come on in! Hope you enjoy my wee abode! 🙂

You can see the full tour of our entryway here! While a wreath would be beautiful hanging on my closet door, I chose to hang a thrifted basket purse and filled it with some pretty flowers!

I don’t think I’ve shown you all our new (to me) coffee table yet. I plan to write a post about it, but it was a FB marketplace find! I did a little diy beautify by stripping it down, and I just love the beautiful patina it has now! I have used a similar method on my bedroom dresser, and it’s a such a great way to transform a piece!

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I made the sign above my couch earlier this spring. I had the wood in my basement already, and I always thought it would make such a great sign! “Francavilla” is our last name and since we have three boys, “& Sons” just seemed to fit!

I get asked about our white chairs in our living room all the time – so I wrote a whole post about them!

I recently found this old crate at an antique store, isn’t it beautiful? The owner said it came from a greenhouse nearby. I love using it as a centerpiece on my dining room table with some fresh blooms I clipped from my backyard for no extra cost! I love the summer season and being able to utilize the fresh flowers from my yard and gardens, but I also use faux greenery all throughout my home!

This vintage cow print was a $7 estate sale find and is one of my favorite recent purchases, you need to head over to Instagram to see the before photo! It was damaged and torn but I love the textures and pops of color it brings to the space next to my hutch. Plus, how chic does it look in this new frame? If you have a thrift store addiction like me, you can easily find beautiful and affordable frames for any print!

And that’s it! I hope you enjoyed our cottage style summer home tour! What is your favorite part about summer time?

PIN IT FOR LATER!

PIN IT FOR LATER

Andrea, great video! The house flows seamlessly from the picket fence and purple flowers in to all of the inside rooms. Everything is so inviting and beautiful.
Thank you for opening up your home through the video:)
Hugs,
Rachelle
Oh my goodness thank you Rachelle! That was such a sweet comment. 🙂 I’m so glad you enjoyed the tour! 🙂
Love your style! I stumbled across your blog from Pinterest and was excited to find that you have the same crown molding as me. What do you call it? The coved molding. Thanks in advance!
Hey Kelsey!! Thank you so much! 🙂 They are the original plaster ceilings from when the home was built, I’m not sure of the name! I was told that a mold was used to get the coved effect. It’s pretty neat isn’t it? I love ours! 🙂
I am so glad I happened upon your site through Pinterest. Your home is beautiful. Warm, inviting, comforting…adjectives go on in my mind. Thank you for sharing your inspiring ideas! I am so glad I found you,

Hi Andrea, new follower here. I’m so enamored with your coffee table that I’m reading & searching through your older blog posts to try to find a name for it, or manufacturer. Is that listed somewhere? I’ve searched everywhere. Your home is simply stunning!
