Healthy Chocolate Seed Granola

This healthy homemade chocolate granola is crunchy, lightly sweetened, and incredibly addictive. Packed with oats, chia, flax, and golden roasted pepitas, it’s a heart-healthy breakfast or snack with more protein and fiber than most store-bought granola.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 4 tbsp chia seeds
  • 4 tbsp whole flax seed
  • 1/4 cup sprouted pumpkin seeds pepitas
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 4 tbsp maple syrup
  • 4 tbsp coconut oil melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp Himalayan pink salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine oats, chia seeds, flax seed, pumpkin seeds, cocoa powder, and salt.
  3. Add melted coconut oil, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Stir until everything is evenly coated.
  4. Spread the mixture evenly onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 20–25 minutes, stirring once halfway through.
  6. The granola is done when the pepitas become fragrant and golden brown.
  7. Allow the granola to cool completely before storing. It will continue to crisp as it cools.

Notes

  1. For extra crunch, avoid stirring during the final 10 minutes of baking.
  2. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
  3. Optional add-ins: dark chocolate chips, dried fruit, chopped nuts.
