Today I’m sharing some new summer prints that I have added to my shop, along with some details about a birthday giveaway!
Hey friends! I’m so excited to tell you that I’ve finally added some new summer landscape prints to my shop! As most of you know, I released my “New Beginnings” collection of paintings back in June. It was so scary and exciting for me all at the same time!
I really didn’t know what to expect, but I have to say that I received the sweetest feedback and some of the kindest words in regards to my paintings. So many of you guys purchased them, and honestly it brought me to tears.
I would love to see my paintings in your homes! Please feel free to tag me on Instagram if you share my artwork on your feed or in your stories. I would love to share!
Since releasing my first collection of paintings, I have continued to paint as time will allow. As sad and scary as this virus has been, one thing it gave me so much more of was time. More time at home, more time with my family, more time to paint. As things pick up and life slowly goes back to normal, I need to be disciplined about making the time to paint, because it’s truly become something that I love to do.
I am calling this next set of paintings that I have added to the shop my “Summer Play” collection, because a lot of them were inspired by the places we like to visit during the summertime. The beach, a local family farm, views from my car window as we drive outside of town. My favorite print in the collection is entitled “The Wind Behind Your Sails” – it was my first time painting a little sail boat!
There is actually one print that I painted just recently, and it was an interesting exercise for me. It’s entitled “Somewhere In Between” and you can tell that it looks a bit different from the others. I really got creative with the colors, and I challenged myself to stop after one hour! My paintings usually take me 2 to 2 1/2 hours so this was hard for me. It’s much more “loose” and rustic feeling but I shared it in my stories over on Instagram and I couldn’t believe how many of you asked if it would be for sale! Haha!
There are a few questions I wanted to answer quickly about my prints.
Where is the best place to print your paintings?
I personally have not printed any of my downloads yet, but both my sister and a close friend have gone through Mpix and loved the results! There are so many options to choose from, like printing on canvas or even adding texture to your prints. Like I said, I haven’t personally used their site but from what I’ve heard they seem to be a great option!
What dimensions are your prints? Can they be resized?
Most of my paintings are uploaded as a 5×7 print. In my Summer Play collection there is a beach scene (entitled “Sandy Shores”) that I uploaded as an 8×10 since the original was much larger.
As far as resizing the images, I will always upload them at a very high resolution so that they can be resized. Most sites will recommend specific sizes based on the original image, so for example Mpix will only let you enlarge my 5×7 prints to 11×14 inches.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy them and I wanted to tell you about an exciting new offer I’ve created!
