If you are looking for some fall landscape paintings to incorporate into your decor this season, I have some available for you! This collection isn’t quite as big as I’d hoped it would be, but I love each and every piece and I’m excited to be able to offer them to you all!

Autumn paintings to purchase in my shop

When everything was shut down this past spring, I began painting because it was something that brought me joy. I was truly having fun, and each painting felt like another adventure. I turned on some beautiful music, poured myself a cup of coffee, and had no idea where my paint brush would take me.

My amazing husband would look over my shoulder and smile, encourage me, and play with the boys. We had no place to go, nowhere to be, no one coming over. I could get lost in paint and not feel an ounce of guilt over it.

As you all know, life eventually got back to normal, or the “new normal” as so many are calling it. My husband went back to work, and if I’m being honest I sort of mourned the end of this magical time we all had together as a family.

You guys probably think I’m crazy. I probably am. Haha!

Over time I began painting less and less, and when I did find the time to paint I often felt guilty about it. Like I should be doing something more productive.

Anyway all that to say, I wish this fall landscape painting collection had been bigger, but I’m still happy with the paintings I was able to finish.

One lesson I learned through this whole transition is that creativity is important, and we need to make time for it. Life is too short, and oftentimes we get so caught up in our lists and routines that we schedule the creativity right out of our lives.

Sometimes the most beautiful things happen during the most unexpected times. I’m in my thirties now, and it took a crazy lock down for me to take the time to pick up a paint brush. How I wish I had started so much sooner!

Do you guys want to hear a crazy story? My Mom used to write us letters every year on our birthday and then seal them up. She saved them all and gave them to us when we were adults.

When I opened my birthday card from 1995, my Mom wrote so many things, but this sentence stood out – “You say when you grow up, you want to be an artist and I hope you are, you love it. You tell me that wherever you go, you make sure you look at everything so you can draw it when you get home.”

I read a bit more of the letter in my YouTube video linked above if you’d like to watch it, but my word. I’m sure you can imagine the tears as I read that!

I have always loved to draw and paint and create. But then we grow up. Life gets busy. We have bills to pay. And we forget to take time for the gifts that God has given us.

I know I’m not an amazing artist, and by no means do I feel like I have “arrived” in the world of landscape paintings. No where close.

But painting brings me joy. It helps me to slow down. To observe the world around me. To think. To pray. To breathe.

I believe with all my heart that our amazing Creator designed us to create. Is there something that you love to do, but you’ve just been too busy to set time aside for it?

I’m right there with you.

  1. Hey there! I would love to buy some of your prints and frame them just like you have, in a gold frame with a white mat. Would you be able to show us in a video what the sizes are that you’ve framed and what you think the biggest size you could print them at would be? I would love to know your frame sizes and print sizes and see them on a wall if you have them hanging somewhere. I would like to print a lot of them. Thank you!!

    1. Hello, these are all different sizes and I buy most of my frames at thrift stores! They have an awesome affordable collection usually! As far as how big you can print them, I have had several show me very large prints they have done, so I believe you should be able to print in whatever size you prefer!

  2. Your paintings are just beautiful! I hope you don’t feel guilty about painting. I used to feel the same way when my kids were young. But if it helps you to feel creative and releases stress, then you’re doing something very valuable for yourself AND your family. 😉

  3. I absolutely LOVE this!! A couple years ago I started painting… but it didn’t take much for me to put the paintbrush down. Life got busy, and ONE person said some pretty hurtful things. I believe you’re right. Our creator created us to create. Thanks for the encouragement today!! I’ll be praying for your painting time!

    1. I am so sorry to hear someone was not kind, that can always seem louder than the support, but I hope you are able to paint again soon! Thank you!

    2. Please take up the brush again. It will give you pleasure and it provides a creative outlet that we all need, especially now. I hope you will try to remind yourself that whatever that person said, it doesn’t have to hurt you. Try to understand that whoever said that is probably not aware that the comments were hurtful. Also, he or she is certainly not an art critic!

  4. I envy your ability to paint. My stick figures die! I have ideas in my head but they are stuck! I’d really like to be the next Gramma Moses!
Your paintings are so peaceful. Love your work.
