There are so many fun and simple DIY’s in this space that I can’t wait to share with you, but I wanted to start off with these fun pom pom curtains.

The curtains themselves came from Marshall’s, but you can find similar ones here. I loved the waffle pattern and texture, but I felt like they needed something more. I knew that pom poms would add the perfect amount of whimsy, but I couldn’t find anything I liked.

Since we went with a gray blue paint and a neutral wallpaper for the nursery walls, I wanted a pom pom that would contrast nicely without feeling too busy. I was walking through a craft store when I saw some jute rope and the idea hit me – what if I just made my own?

So that’s just what I did. I purchased the jute rope and began playing around with possibilities. Here’s what you’ll need –

Jute rope, medium thickness

Scissors

Hot glue gun/hot glue

Measuring tape

Pencil

Use your measuring tape to decide how far apart you’d like to place your pom-poms, then mark with a pencil. Count your marks to figure out how many pom-poms you’ll need to make. My pom-poms were 2 inches apart.

Take your roll of jute and tie a knot as close to the end as you can. Pull tightly.
